Care / Support Worker

The role of the care/support worker is to

  • promote the opportunity for service users to live in the community as long as possible, by providing care and support to the individuals and their families, and to
  • enable service users to live as independently, comfortably and securely as possible

We expect our care/support workers to take individual responsibility for the delivery of personal and practical care needs of service users, in line with the practices, procedures and policies of Guardian Homecare.

In general, it is the duty of the post holder to undertake all care work with the sensitivity and empathy required to provide services in a way which will preserve the dignity, privacy, choice, independence, fulfilment and rights of the service user and his/her usual carer/members of family.

Supervisor / Team Leader

The role of the supervisor/team leader is to:

  • supervise and assist in the development of care staff
  • ensure that standards of care and support are maintained to a professional level and are meeting the service user individual needs
  • monitor and spot check care/support workers in the course of their duties
  • monitor the standard and level of satisfaction of the service being delivered to ensure that quality standards in our community are maintained
  • work as part of a care team

It is essential that Supervisors/Team Leaders spend 90-95% of their working week in the field, the remainder being spent in the office to complete the necessary administration.

Supervisors/team leaders may be required to work a shift system or to vary their hours of work.

Care Coordinator

The role of the care coordinator is to:

  • assist in the smooth running of the office and its multi disciplined service activities
  • develop and maintain good business relations
  • ensure that they and all staff work together as an effective team
  • implement and evaluate the aims, objectives, policies and procedures of the company to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the service for the service user

Post holder may be required to participate in the 24 hour on-call rota to meet the needs of the business.

Care Manager

The role of the care manager is to

  • manage the office and its multi disciplined service activities
  • meet agreed targets in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Company, regulations and legislation set by the relevant industry regulator by developing and maintaining good business relations
  • ensure that all staff work together as a team and that they act at all times in accordance with our code of conduct and that of the General Social Care Council
